Payments and fees:
All session fees are due at the start time of each appointment. A credit card will be held on file for all clients to confirm and reserve appointments. You will not be charged until the time of your appointment and you are free to use other forms of payment, if preferred. Accepted forms of payment include credit cards (Visa/MasterCard/Discover/Debit Cards) on file or you may use the 'Pay Now' button above to submit payments. Clients may be able to use a HSA or FSA to cover therapy expenses. Feel free to contact us to inquire about the current fees and/or your balance.
Do you accept insurance?
SF Bay THerapist Group is now in network for Aetna & Cigna/ Evernorth. It is best to verify your coverage.
If your provider is out of network for your insurance, we can provide you monthly, medical statement to submit for reimbursement for direct coverage reimbursement to you.
Insurance companies and Behavioral/ Mental Health carve outs are changing frequently these days. And it can depend on each provider's enrollment status and the insurance company requirements at the time service was rendered. Please, contact your insurance company directly to confirm coverage and network status. Additionally, when utilizing insurance benefits, treatment needs to be "medically necessary", therefore a mental disorder diagnosis is required and your coverage and insurance company will determine if and how that is reimbursed.
What should I consider when using my insurance coverage?
Pro: You may receive some reimbursements for the therapy cost. Con: As an aware consumer, you should know that insurance plans have access to your clinical information. If, they provide some payment, they can review your clinical details and treatment diagnosis. These clinical details may be interpreted at their discretion. This means they can dictate the length and frequency of your sessions. This may impact your clinical care and add the risk of confidentiality. Additionally, this information may be used unfavorably towards you, should there be any legal situation. You have the right to use or not use your insurance for your mental health coverage.
Here are some questions that may help guide you to better understand your coverage:
Do I have behavioral/mental health benefits for outpatient therapy?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
What is my deductible?
What is my copay ?
Is my provider in-network?
If not, then how much does my plan cover for an out-of network provider?
