She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Counseling Psychology, which she proudly notes, "These have provided me with a solid foundation in mental health."
Mickesha's professional experience includes community-based mental health work in Santa Clara and San Francisco counties, where she has gained a thorough understanding of both individual and community factors that shape mental health. She has had the privilege of working with children, teenagers, young adults, and adults facing a range of issues, including trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD, school challenges, and behavioral difficulties. She has supported children in their 504 and IEP plans. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from modalities such as Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Team CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Play Therapy. This flexibility allows her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment.
