Maura Uyeda, LCSW, Clinical Therapist
Maura has worked in the mental health field for over 14 years. She began her career focused in Early Childhood Development. Maura later attended Loyola University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. After working as part of a multidisciplinary team in the heart of the New Orleans community following Hurricane Katrina, Maura gained years of mental health clinical skills working amongst various populations. While working as a psychiatric technician in a New Orleans psychiatric hospital, she gained greater experience in trauma work. Maura continued to help adults suffering from trauma-based mental disorders in various settings including Mental Health Rehabilitation. She worked in an Early Start program providing support to families of children with special needs. Maura attained her Masters of Arts degree in Social Work from Tulane University.
"Empowering children, adolescents, adults, and families who struggle with various mental health disorders is important to me. I enjoy assisting clients to constantly strive to achieve optimal growth and wellbeing. I will guide clients in gaining therapeutic tools that allow for growth while achieving positive functioning. I practice a strength-based approach to therapeutic assistance. My modes of treatments are evidence-based and derive from a bio-psychosocial approach. Additional approach methods may include a Family Systems approach, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy. I am very excited to serve clients in the Bay Area. My hope is to assist clients in attaining the change they want to see."
