Aastha Dhingra, AMFT, Associate Therapist
Aastha is passionate working with children, parents, couples and adults struggling with trauma, loss, grief, psychosis, executive function challenges, adjustment, sexual assault, substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. Aastha has worked in community mental health outpatient settings in Santa Clara County striving to create a culturally competent and aware mental health system for the community and the clients. She continues to meet clients where they are at and follows a power-with approach towards change and healing.
Aastha follows a person-centered and strength-based approach integrated with modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Harm reduction and Gestalt Therapy. She has worked with challenging clientele providing crisis interventions and case management services to youth in crisis, while maintaining her client's clinical care at the forefront. And worked on reunification with families using wrap-around process in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, Aastha has been trained in and utilizes creative interventions such as mindfulness, sand tray therapy, play therapy, and art therapy to offer a unique approach to processing.
Aastha provides a warm and safe space to cultivate growth and self-exploration, while advocating for clients with a strong clinical approach. She aims to enable and empower autonomy and help individuals and couples bring awareness to their strengths to derive at desired outcome for healing. As a bilingual therapist, she proudly offers therapy services in English and Hindi. She understands the importance of communicating effectively and providing comfort in a therapeutic environment. Aastha offers both in-person and telehealth services.
